Working towards greener greens.

We appreciate all the feedback we’ve received regarding the condition of our greens, and we fully understand that their recent state has not met the high standards our members and guests deserve. Your input has been invaluable in helping us address these concerns directly and transparently.

In response, we have made significant changes to our course‑maintenance leadership, including bringing on a new superintendent who shares our vision for restoring the course to its original design of excellence. Over the past few months, he and the grounds team have been working tirelessly to rejuvenate the greens and improve overall course conditions. Sod and sprigs have been applied to the troubled areas, and as we move into the growing season, we expect to see continued positive progress.

We are already seeing encouraging improvements, and we are confident that, under his direction, the course will return to the iconic standard envisioned by Rees Jones. This restoration is a priority for our entire team, and we are committed to delivering the exceptional golf experience you expect and deserve.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and continued support as we complete these improvements.

Thank you for being part of the Southbridge Savannah community.

COURSE PROGRESS REPORT

MAY 1, 2026

It may not look like much, but it can be a life saver

The current severe drought leaves SBSGC totally dependent on using water from the Hardin canal to irrigate the course. The transfer pump system, located near the canal bridge on hole #12, pumps water from the canal to our reservoir located near the irrigation system . Unfortunately, the transfer pump system had not been used for several years and was in need of maintenance. Thanks to the expertise of members Floyd Roberson and Ira Jones the pump is now functioning well and providing the course with over two million gallons of much needed water per week . And a special thank you to Don Adams and two of his staff for giving the canal water basin a long overdue cleaning. If the cleaning process had been videoed, it would have made the top ten most watched episodes of Mike Rowe's Dirty Jobs TV series.
